Due to the fog on the race slope yesterday, the Men's Downhill was rescheduled to take place today after the Ladies Downhill.
What a busy day for the organisers!!! But today, thanks to the good weather conditions, we were able to witness two very exciting races.
The Ladies' race was started at 11.15 a.m. and the gold medal went rightly to the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec, who has already won three downhill races this season.
The second place and the silver medal went to Austrian Stephanie Venier and the bronze medal was won by Lindsey Vonn from the United States.
Two hours later, at 13.30 p.m. it was time for the men to show their skills. The first numbers were not very successful due to a light fog at the start, and conditions later improved, allowing Beat Feuz from Switzerland to win the gold medal with a masterful downhill race.
The second place went to the Super-G World Champion, the Canadian Eric Guay, and the bronze medal was won by the Austrian Max Franz.
Just two hundredths of a second away from the rostrum, the defending champion Patrick Kueng from Switzerland tied in fourth place with Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud.
