Why regular ski care is important

Your skis are constantly exposed to stress on the slopes. Cold, friction and obstacles such as stones can damage the material and base. Regular care ensures that your skis not only glide better, but are also more resistant to external influences.

Basic care includes::

  • Waxing: For maximum gliding properties and protection against moisture.

  • Grinding edges: For secure grip on hard and icy slopes.

  • Repairing the base: To repair minor damage and avoid major repairs.

So if you look after your skis, you can enjoy them for longer and are always perfectly equipped for every descent.

Repair minor damage yourself

When freeriding or on rocky slopes, small holes or dents can quickly appear in the ski base. You can easily repair this damage yourself with a repair candle. First you should clean the ski thoroughly, remove old wax and clean the affected areas. Then light the Repair Candle, whereby the first drops should not drip directly onto the ski, but onto a piece of cardboard or with the Steel Scraper Blade, which you also used previously to remove the residue. As soon as the candle burns evenly, you can carefully drip the melted material into the damaged areas. Once it has cooled down, file the coating again with the blade to create an even surface. And important: brush out the coating with a copper brush afterwards.

Tip: If the damage is close to the edges or the holes are large, it is advisable to call in a professional.

Whether you repair small holes yourself or have the ski base professionally renewed - the right care is essential to keep your skis in good shape. Regular waxing and care not only ensure a better skiing experience, but also extend the lifespan of your skis. So, before the winter fun begins: give your skis the care they deserve. You will feel the difference.
